  1. Offer commences 1 November 2013 and ends 11:59pm (AEDST), Monday 30 June 2014.
  2. This offer is only available to new members who satisfy the eligibility criteria of Teachers Health Fund, whose membership application is received by Teachers Health Fund from 1 November 2013 and ends 11:59pm (AEDST), Monday 30 June 2014.
  3. To be eligible for one month free the new member must select Hospital and Extras cover or a combined cover (including both Hospital and Extras cover).
  4. The new member must join online at teachershealth.com.au
  5. The new member must select a Direct Debit payment plan.
  6. One month’s free cover is applied to the second month of the new membership, upon successful receipt of the new member’s first contribution payment.
  7. Only the two and six month waiting periods on Extras services will be waived for new members, as part of this promotion.
  8. The offer does not apply to stand-alone Hospital, Extras or Ambulance only policies.
  9. The offer does not apply to policy upgrades, or when a spouse or dependant is added to an existing Teachers Health Fund policy.
  10. This offer is only available to a new Teachers Health Fund policyholder (primary member) who is currently or has not been a paying/financial member in the past four (4) months.

All Australian residents, who are entitled to Medicare, are able to claim an income tested rebate on their private health insurance; would you like to apply your rebate?

For individuals earning between $88,001 - $102,000 (or $176,001 - $204,000 for families*).
*For families with children, the thresholds are increased by $1,500 for each child after the first.

How rebate tiers workX

Most Australians with private health insurance currently receive a rebate from the Australian Government to help cover the cost of their premiums. The private health insurance rebate is income tested. The table below details the different rebate amounts and Medicare Levy Surcharge levels.

The rebate applies to hospital, general treatment and ambulance policies. It does not apply to overseas visitors cover. The rebate levels applicable for 1 July 2013 to 30 June 2014 are:
