We’re looking for members to share their Teachers Health Fund story!

We know from your letters, emails and phone calls that our members love that Teachers Health Fund is there when you need us most, whether it’s overcoming a major injury, receiving remedial treatment for an ongoing health issue, or just getting a new pair of glasses.

To help increase awareness of the benefits of being part of Teachers Health Fund amongst people in the education community and their families, we’re looking for members who are willing to share their Teachers Health Fund and health insurance experiences with the media.

For example, we’d love to hear from members who have been in a situation where Teachers Health Fund has been there to support you, or you might want to share a particular service you and your family value most, or the reasons why you think your Fund is different to others out there.

Sharing your story is a great way to help us inform and educate others on the benefits that Teachers Health Fund provides the education community.

To be part of the campaign, members may be asked to do media interviews, have your experience shared on the website or be used for publications like Healthmatters.

For more information, or if you would like to be involved, please email healthmatters@teachershealth.com.au

Your Rebate

All Australian residents, who are entitled to Medicare, are able to claim an income tested rebate on their private health insurance; would you like to apply your rebate?

For individuals earning between $88,001 - $102,000 (or $176,001 - $204,000 for families*).
*For families with children, the thresholds are increased by $1,500 for each child after the first.

How rebate tiers workX

Most Australians with private health insurance currently receive a rebate from the Australian Government to help cover the cost of their premiums. The private health insurance rebate is income tested. The table below details the different rebate amounts and Medicare Levy Surcharge levels.

The rebate applies to hospital, general treatment and ambulance policies. It does not apply to overseas visitors cover. The rebate levels applicable for 1 July 2013 to 30 June 2014 are:
