Teachers Health Fund Dental is designed to provide members with access to quality dental services. Our Dental centres are equipped with state of the art technology to make your experience at the dentist a good one!

As Teachers Health Fund members you can access a range of NO Gap* preventative dental services which means you can come in for a clean and check-up and your preventative dental services will be 100% covered*. Preventative services include:

  • Comprehensive oral examination
  • Panoramic and intra-oral digital x-rays
  • Scale, clean and polish
  • Fluoride and other preventative treatments
  • Intra-oral photographs
  • Fissure sealant

*NO Gap services and covered services are subject to level of Extras cover and available benefits
Other services available to members at a competitive price include:

  • Fillings
  • Aesthetic dentistry – bleaching and whitening treatments as well as porcelain veneers
  • Root canal treatment
  • Crown and bridge treatments

We recommend that you have a dental clean and check-up every 6-12 months to ensure that you have fewer major dental problems in the future.

All Australian residents, who are entitled to Medicare, are able to claim an income tested rebate on their private health insurance; would you like to apply your rebate?

For individuals earning between $88,001 - $102,000 (or $176,001 - $204,000 for families*).
*For families with children, the thresholds are increased by $1,500 for each child after the first.

How rebate tiers workX

Most Australians with private health insurance currently receive a rebate from the Australian Government to help cover the cost of their premiums. The private health insurance rebate is income tested. The table below details the different rebate amounts and Medicare Levy Surcharge levels.

The rebate applies to hospital, general treatment and ambulance policies. It does not apply to overseas visitors cover. The rebate levels applicable for 1 July 2013 to 30 June 2014 are:
